Fite Over Hemingway Cats

In yet anuther exampul of the guvermint poking its noze ware it duzn't belong, there was a storey in the news this morning abowt how the USDA (wich I think is the United States Dawg Ajency -- let me chek on that) wants to fine the Hemingway house for "exhibiting" cats on the premises without a lisense:

A BATTLE has broken out in America's southernmost town over the future of some of its famous citizens - dozens of six-toed felines descended from a pet belonging to the writer Ernest Hemingway.

Almost 50 of the unusual cats roam the grounds of the author's former house in Key West, Florida, which welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors a year as a museum to "Papa" and the classic novels he wrote there, including For Whom the Bell Tolls and To Have and Have Not. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) wants to fine the museum's owners up to $200 (£107) a day for "exhibiting" the animals without a license, according to a lawsuit filed in Miami.
The trustees insist that tourists pay to see the house: the cats are merely residents.

"They're comparing the Hemingway house to a circus or a zoo because there are cats on the premises," said Cara Higgins, a lawyer for the home's owners.

I'm on the trustees' side, but do they have to concokt such a big lie as to say that the cats are MERELY residents? Do yoo know a singul persun hoo goze to visit the Hemingway Howse in Key West hoo duzn't go solely to see the cats? I meen, HELLO! What else is thare to see thare but the fameus six-toed luckey mitten cats? And why shood the govermint git all the munney frum the fine win the munney shood be given to all the hard-werking Hemingway cats?

Yoo can reed the hole artikul here.

I can only hope those felines are getting a share of the profits since they are working so hard on bringing in the tourists.

our mommy's friend that was just here visiting was just at the hemmingway house a couple of monfs ago, and she sawed the 6 toed cats. She said they are free to come and go as they please, but they choose to stay there, and they're not on "exhibit" - they just wander around whereefurr they want to.
