Of course it would be a Catholic church...'Catholic' sounds an awful lot like 'cat lick' to me and I wonder if it isn't related to the cat worshipers in Egypt?? ^_^

I've been thinking about this all day...you know you never hear of papal pets. I wonder if the pope has a pet cat or two as official mouse-catchers of the vatican?? ^_^

Wow, that's VERY informative, Skeezix! I wonder why/when they made the rule about animals in the Vatican though? Sounds like they were allowed up till Pope Leo XII, Pius XII and Paul VI...my church history is fuzzy in that respect but wasn't Pius XII the one that did the new vatican thing in the early 60s? Hmmm...

So why is Pope Benedict XVI barred from having cats at the Apostolic Palace? Joaquin Navarro-Valls, the official spokesman for The Holy See press office in the Vatican, refused to comment. His secretary explained, “That is a private issue. The Holy See doesn’t divulge anything about the pope’s private life.”

THAT says a LOT!! :P

Anyway, thanks again for those informative links! I really learned something cool on christmas eve!! ^_^
